Even for those of you that dread putting on sunscreen everyday, we’re sure you’re going to be happy putting this on everyday. Because the Klairs UV essence isn’t much like other sunscreens on the market, we’ve put together a quick guide on the UV essence starting from the formula, texture, ingredients and more!Q1. What SPF and PA level does it have?A.The new Klairs UV essence has a sun protection factor (SPF) of 50, with PA++++. There are two different types of UV rays, UVA and UVB. SPF protects against UVB rays, while the PA level, which are usually listed with plus signs, refers to the level of protection the sunscreen offers from UVA rays. The more plus symbols, the more protection from UVA rays. This is perfect for everyday use.Q2. What skin type is this best suited for?A. All skin types! However, for those of you stressing over a dull complexion, dry skin, and even sensitive skin, the UV essence is for you. Read more to find out why!Q3. What other functions does the UV essence have?A. While the Klairs Soft Airy UV Essence’s main function is of course, to protect against UV rays, it also contains many other great ingredients that deliver amazing properties to the skin. With its lightweight, transparent finish, it protects the skin from UVA and UVB without any stickiness and white cast, while also slowly brightening the overall complexion with continuous use.Q4. Does it feel sticky/ oily/ leave a white cast?A. No! This is why the UV essence is a game changer in the world of UV protection. Most sunscreens contain oils that leave the skin feeling greasy, and minerals that create a thick, uncomfortable layer on the skin that can also leave a white cast. The Klairs UV essence is oil free, save for a trace amount used for hydration and brightening, and dries with a sheer, hydrating finish. It’s water based formula is breathable and comfortable for the skin.Q5. Does it contain any harmful ingredients?A. No! This Klairs UV essence, like all other Klairs products, is created with only the safest ingredients, free from parabens, artificial fragrances and colors, preservatives and oils that may irritate the skin. Fun fact: it’s made with only 20 ingredients, with no additives at all!Q6. Can I mix this in with other products?A. It’s not recommended. While the UV essence doesn’t contain ingredients that shouldn’t be mixed with other ingredients or products, in general, sun protection products should not be mixed with other products because it can lower its protective power. We recommend you simply apply other desired products under or over the UV essence.Q7. What’s the difference between the UV essence and the Klairs Midday Blue Sun Lotion?A. While both sunscreens provide great UV protection to the skin, the main difference lies in their functions. The Midday Blue Sun Lotion is great for those with more redness in their skin, as it not only contains cooling and heat-shielding properties, but also has a light blue hue that works to cancel out redness. The UV essence on the other hand, has a sheer finish and is super lightweight, hydrating, and even brightening, making it great for those that normally shy away from sunscreen.Q8. How much should I apply?A. Probably most likely more than you think you should. For sunscreen to be effective, you need to apply a lot to the skin. A general rule of thumb to follow is to apply a third, to half a teaspoon of sunscreen to the whole face, ears and neck.Q9. How long should I wait to reapply?A. Generally, you should reapply every two to three hours, or as fit according to the amount of time you spend in the sun. Even the highest SPF products wear out in a few hours, so always remember that reapplying your sunscreen is key.Q10. How can I reapply this throughout the day if I wear makeup?A. It’s easy! Just take a cushion puff and squirt out the wanted amount of sunscreen and dab your puff into the product, just as you would your cushion foundation. Tap it on the skin, making sure not to rub or push off any product already laying on the skin. Do this in multiple layers with a gentle hand, and voila!
